Rohingya Will Get 17% less Food While They Are Not Allowed To Work

Not Enough Money for Rohingya Refugees

News reports indicate that there will not be enough donor money to feed the Rohingya living in the camps of Coxs Bazar. At a time when governments are donating to help in Turkey and Ukraine, this could be a disaster for the Rohingya, especially the weakest and most vulnerable!

A recent interview with the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC) in Bangladesh indicates sincere sympathy for Rohingya genocide survivors, but a lack of vision about how to deal with social problems occuring in confinement. And as we see in the interviewers’ questions, the Bangladesh media see Rohingya social problems in security terms and fail to address root causes.

Message to Adapt in Your Own Words. “You are right that the Rohingya deserve education to not waste their potential and future, but this is also why they deserve employment. Rohingya do not want to receive charity but to earn to support their families. Create jobs both for them and for Bangladeshis. This is the development model. Since less donor money will be available for food, employment is the way to feed the million.”
