Give Zakat To Help Burma Muslims
Burma Task Force USA implores you to help stop the genocide of the Rohingya people in Burma by donating your Zakat today. Despite promises made by the Suu Kyi led government, little to no progress has been made on their behalf. The Burmese government is oppressing the Rohingya people to the point that seven Nobel Peace laureates have declared their actions genocide.
Hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have been forced to live in squalid, state run “concentration” camps. They are being denied basic human rights including the ability to travel, access to food, education, and essential medical attention. In fact, the UN reports that the Rohingya may be victims of crimes against humanity.
Working with Burma Task Force means you support a humanitarian initiative dedicated to saving the lives of over a million people targeted for state sponsored genocide.
Individuals from all over the world have joined Burma Task Force USA to help the Rohingya. Our staff and volunteers work relentlessly to help BTF achieve their goals, including:
- Stopping the genocide of the Rohingya Muslims,
- bringing awareness of unjust Burmese policies that restrict human rights,
- promoting acceptance of the Rohingya as an ethnic minority of Burma,
- and pressuring international governments to take action against Burma until they end the persecution.
Our efforts produce results:
Strong social media advocacy has lead to twitter campaigns that bring awareness to the plight of the Rohingya, helped stop mob aggression during the turbulent 2015 election, and reach over 100,000 people with our action alerts.
We have spearheaded global workshops, roundtables and academic conferences to educate diverse communities regarding the severity of anti-Rohingya policies. We have also organized demonstrations in New York, Washington DC, and Chicago.
Remember, relief supplies are not reaching those in need. Our work is critical in opening up Burma for international media, human rights organizations and the international relief organizations. So please donate generously. This work is eligible for Zakat through the fi sabeelillah category of Zakat and is tax deductible.
Your zakat will literally save lives. Please donate now.
