Violence And Complicity

Last week, hearings in the International Court of Justice considered the Burmese military’s responsible for war crimes and genocide against the Rohingya. The Burmese military junta tried to get the case thrown out.

Meanwhile, following increased consultation with the Russian military, the Burmese military has stepped up its deadly bombing campaigns. Unlike much of the world, the military “government” of Burma has also endorsed Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This should shock us, if not surprise us.

As the invasion began, the Prime Minister of Pakistan was visiting Russia. Reports indicate that Pakistan is planning to sell arms to the Burmese military. This extremely disappointing policy is unacceptable, and we request you write to Pakistani officials:

Action: Imran Khan, Selling Arms to Burma is Not Cricket

Please clearly ask these officials to ensure that no arms are delivered to Burma/Myanmar. Note that it is is same Burmese military that is responsible for the genocide of the Rohingya Muslims.
