Nobel Peace laureates, former heads of state, and international leaders in peace and human rights issues send their messages of support for the Rohingya cause. Archbishop Desmond Tutu (Nobel Peace laureate), Mairead Maguire (Nobel Peace laureate), George Soros (Open Society Foundation), Tun Mahathir Mohamad (former Prime Minister of Malaysia), and Jose Ramos-Horta (former Primer Minister of East Timor), send these messages condemning the systematic persecution of Rohingyas by the Burmese government.
George Soros states that what he witnessed happening to the Rohingya reminds him of the Nazi-occupied Hungary from his childhood; Archbishop Desmond Tutu agrees with Amartya Sen that the situation is a slow genocide; Jose Ramos-Horta insists that the rights of the Rohingya cannot be left out of Burma’s transition to democracy. Watch these and other profound statements in this video, which was presented before the The Oslo Conference to End the Systematic Persecution of Rohingyas (May 26-28, 2015).
