Forty percent of Burma consists of ethnic minorities. There are Muslims among many of these ethnic minorities; Rohingya Muslims are one of these minorities who live in the southwest region of Burma near the border with Bangladesh.

The human rights cause in Burma Muslims pertains directly to the 8 million Muslims who are affected by their ethnic cleansing but also to the 40% of Burmese population who are ethnic minorities. They are all fighting for their survival against those of the majority who control the military and promote Burmese fascism.
The Muslims in Burma have been persecuted for decades, which has resulted in about 2 million refugees in other countries. The worse situation is that of Rohingya Muslims in the southwest of Burma. That is where the current ethnic cleansing is taking place.
